Culinary Clash IV - Clash of the Champions

This years Culinary Clash was held on Thursday, April 28th at the Modesto Centre Plaza at 5:30pm.

Clash of the Champions

On Thursday, April 28, DMC Foundation will host the Fourth Annual Culinary Clash! Come watch three of our past champions compete on stage to win the title "Culinary Clash King!" Special guest, Martin Yan of Yan Can Cook, will reveal our secret ingredient and sit on the panel of expert judges. This delightfully entertaining event is something you won’t want to miss!

The Culinary Clash is the only "Iron-Chef" style competition in this region and it is quickly becoming a highly anticipated local event. Using a secret ingredient and a fully stocked pantry, provided by Sysco, three chefs will have one hour to prepare an appetizer, a pasta dish and a main entree for our judges to critique. At the end of the night, guests will know whose cuisine reigns supreme! Every year we invite dozens of local restaurants and wineries to participate as vendors, offering samples their delicious food and beverages for our guests.

Competing chefs are John Surla of Surla's, Bryan Ehrenholm of Pure Joy Bakery and The Lunch Pail and Leroy Walker of Bistro 234 in Turlock. The hugely popular local Chef John Surla won "People’s Choice Chef" at the Clash in 2009. Chef Bryan Ehrenholm, adored for his famous pies, took the Champion trophy last year and the talented Chef Leroy Walker took the crown at Culinary Clash II. Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite chef among this year’s contenders and crown one of them "Peoples’ Choice Chef." There will be raffles, demos, games and prizes to win along with an abundance of food and wine to enjoy.

This event is held downtown at the Modesto Centre Plaza. Doors will open at 5:30 to the general public. Tickets are $50 in advance or $60 at the door. But don’t wait…this event sells out! Tickets are available at DMC Foundation (730 McHenry Ave.) or on our web site (www.dmcf.org). Call (209) 527-3412 if you have any questions.

The Culinary Clash is DMC Foundation’s biggest fundraiser. Community participation is essential! Come, join us and have a good time while raising money to keep all of our programs going strong.
